Two Great Homesteading Blogs

It's Friday, the day to recommend other great sustainability writers & activists!

Today BaltimoreDIY is featuring:

Ashley English's blog Small Measure. I first heard about Ashley through a convoluted Flickr/Twitter chain. Chris, from Lark Books, emailed me after we both participated in the Canning Across America weekend and posted some photos on Flickr.

She is coming out with a book soon, Homemade Living: Canning & Preserving with Ashley English. I'm almost reluctant to type this because I'll be participating myself, but from now until her book comes out, she's hosting a monthly giveaway of one of her canned goods. October 19th is the deadline to leave a comment & win a jar of cardamom apple butter.

Jenna Woginrich from Cold Antler Farm in VT. I found myself clicking on her articles frequently whenever I was reading Mother Earth News. Although her experience is more rural than other folks I read about (it's no Homegrown Evolution) her gorgeous photos and insightful writing about the adventures of adopting kid goats and life in Vermont can't be beat.

Enjoy! And feel free to check out this feature article by fellow Bmore Foodmaker Michelle Gienow in the Baltimore City Paper.
